Pallavi Sharda: Too new to compete with Deepika

Pallavi Sharda: Too new to compete with Deepika

Actress Pallavi Kapoor is starring with Ranbir Kapoor and some would've thought it was a perfect launchpad for Pallavi Sharda debuting as a female lead in a film directed by blockbuster director Anubhav Singh Sinha in Besharam. While the film didn't do too well at the BO, the debutante is optimistic and seems unaffected by the fate of her first film. Pallavi, who was in Ahmedabad recently on a promotional trip confidently said, "Since the release of the film, I've been away spending a lot of time in Australia, working on different projects.

So I didn't get affected by the fate of the film. Having said that, I'm happy with the way the film turned out. Now that I am back in India, I'm busy with other films (Pallavi is shooting for a period drama opposite Ayushmann Khurrana). This feels like a new beginning and I am only looking forward from here on."

While there have been a number of new faces entering the Hindi film industry, Pallavi says there is nothing to be scared of the competition as the industry provides enough space and work for every individual. She says, "I don't think being a newcomer means you need to be scared of your contemporaries. We are professionals at the end of the day and there is lots of work for everyone. There are no insecurities. I meet other new comers during award functions and other outings, and it's all good. We meet and have fun, they are all nice. When it comes to more established names like Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone, though I haven't met them, I really appreciate their work. I am too new to even get into their competitive zone."

But there are rumours that most leading ladies don't share warm work vibes. She quips, "As industry insiders, we don't pay heed to rumours."

Talking about her future plans, Pallavi shares, "I am taking one thing at a time right now. I knew that with names like Ranbir and Rishi Kapoor involved in the same film, I was never going to be in the main focus. It was my childhood dream to do films, and now that I am getting to do that, I am more than happy."

Friends No More: All is not well between KJo and Kareena?

Friends No More: All is not well between KJo and Kareena?
With Hrithik Roshan opting out of Shuddhi, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone might step in their shoes

Rumours about 'Shuddhi' getting shelved and Deepika Padukone replacing Kareena Kapoor Khan in the film have been doing the rounds for a while now. First, there was talk about Kareena being unsure about doing this Karan Johar film opposite Hrithik Roshan due to date issues.

The actress also said that she would take a call on her involvement upon being approached again by the makers. Then came an announcement by Karan Johar who made it clear that he is looking for a new leading lady and does not want to keep Kareena waiting anymore.

The latest news in this saga is actor Hrithik Roshan's press statement where he has declared his exit from the project. `Karan Malhotra and I have decided to unite in the most ambitious way post Shuddhi. For now, I cannot allow a vision like 'Shuddhi' to stagnate any further. I had the finest experience an actor can have working with Karan in Agneepath and I'm sure both my dear Karans (Malhotra and Johar) are going to go beyond with this one! 'Shuddhi' remains a part of me in spirit and I am sure it will be a landmark in our cinema. I wish them all the best!` read his statement.

It may be pointed out here that post his surgery, Hrithik has been busy shooting for 'Bang Bang' and has not allotted any dates for Karan Malhotra's film. This in turn resulted in the film's delay.

According to sources, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have now been approached to star in the film.

Pyaar Ke Side Effect: Equations between former lovers of B-Town

Pyaar Ke Side Effect: Equations between former lovers of B-Town
In the modern world, relationships are as fickle as they come. Actors are together or not in their personal lives, work has to go on. HitList analyses a few of those equations.

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif
The two split in 2009 after apparently Katrina started dating Ranbir during the making of Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani. But the two remain cordial with each other. Salman Khan performed with her in an item numbers for Tees Maar Khan before working with her again in Ek Tha Tiger. She is known to visit the actor's place regularly. Though chances of the two coming together for a film seem slim, it may be noted that Salman and Katrina's film Yuvraj had tanked at the box office.

John Abraham and Bipasha Basu

Their eight-year relationship ended on a bitter note. Though John hasn't spoken about her for a while now, Bipasha has often hinted at the actor having caused the split. When the two were together, the couple was also approached by product companies for endorsements. Since their split, they haven't worked together.. There were recent reports that Bipasha was considered for a cameo in Shootout at Wadala but was dropped as John was against her being cast in the film. She was eventually replaced by Sunny Leone in the film.

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone

The two worked together in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani (YJHD) and they will pair up again in Imtiaz Ali's next film that goes on the floors in June this year. The actors were seeing each other during the shoot for Bachna Ae Haseeno and initially the film did average business at the box office. Then came their split and the release of YJHD, which was a resounding success. The two are now open to working with each other and are good friends too.

Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja

This couple may no longer be together but the two are on talking terms. When the first look of Harman's film Dishikyaoon was recently launched, Priyanka Chopra sent out a tweet congratulating the actor, and wishing him good luck. It may be recalled that Priyanka and Harman dated each other for more than a year and worked together in two films: Love Story 2050 and What's Your Rashee? Clearly, the two have moved on.

Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh

They started dating each other during the making of the film, Band Baaja Baarat. The two were cast opposite each other in Maneesh Sharma's second film, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl. The two apparently split after the actor expressed his displeasure over Anushka's friendship with another actor. But the two will star together in Zoya Akhtar's next film. Ranveer Singh has reportedly said that he is looking forward to working again with Anushka. He even has given her the credit for making him a better actor.

Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor

It took them a decade to finally come together again in Karan Malhotra's film Shuddhi. Kareena has been eager to start work on the film but the shoot has been delayed due to Hrithik's ill-health and his separation from wife Sussanne. The two last worked together in Sooraj Barjatya's film, Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon. This 2003 film failed to make a mark at the BO. After that due to personal issues, they didn't work with each other.

Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra

Though neither of them have confirmed or denied their relationship, rumour mills have been buzzing with news about their romance. Recently when Karan Johar quizzed PC on his show about Shahid Kapoor, she replied saying, `Gandi Baat.` It is said that they broke up during the making of Teri Meri Kahani and theirs was a cordial split. We wonder if the two will come together in Vishal Bhardwaj's Kaminey2.

Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor

It is being said that their split was an acrimonious one and things don't seem to have improved between the two. Grapevine has it that the actress and the actor had a showdown during rehearsals for an award function. The two, who dated for more than two years, went separate ways during the making of Jab We Met. Interestingly, their films - 36 China Town, Chup Chup Ke and Fida -- failed to work magic at the box office.

Blast from the past
Madhubala and Dilip Kumar: Dilip Kumar and Madhubala worked together in four films. The two stars broke up just before the making of Mughal E Azam and despite their differences, they went on to act in films such as Tarana, Sangdil and Amar.

Rekha and Vinod Mehra: Rekha and Vinod Mehra starting seeing each other during the making of the film Elaan in 1971. The two were said to be married but the actress denied this. The two came together after their split in Manik Chatterji's film, Ghar that was very well-received by the audiences.
